Sous Vide Teriyaki Steak
- 2 - 1lbs Steaks, about 1.5 inch thick
- ¼ Cup Soy Sauce
- ¼ Cup Brown Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Sake
- 3 Garlic Cloves, sliced
Make the teriyaki sauce by adding ¼ Cup Soy Sauce, ¼ Cup Brown Sugar, 2 Tablespoons Sake into a sauce pan, bring to a boil and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Turn off the heat and add the garlic slices to the pan. Let the teriyaki sauce cool to room temp. Reserve 3 Tablespoons of sauce for serving or drizzling.
Season your steaks liberally with ground black pepper on all sides and coat well with teriyaki sauce. Place the garlic slices on top of the steaks, place into vacuum sealer bags, use KitchenBoss Vacuum Sealer to seal and remove the air from the bags.
Attach the sous vide bracket to a large pot, place the KitchenBoss Sous Vide Cooker into the bracket and fill with enough water so it’s above the minimum line, but below the maximum line. Choose the Sous Vide temperature and timing according to your preference
Medium-Rare 130°F for 1 Hour
Medium 135°F for 1.5 Hours
Medium-Well 140°F for 2 Hours
The KitchenBoss Sous Vide Cooker will preheat the water and beep when it’s at the correct temp. Submerge the sealed steaks into the water.
Remove the steaks from the bags, remove the garlic cloves and pat them dry with paper towels. Finish them on the grill using the highest heat or in a smoking hot cast iron pan on the stovetop. Coat the steaks with melted butter and sear on both sides for about 1 minute on each side. Sprinkle on a little coarse salt on top of the steaks and serve immediately. You can drizzle on the reserved teriyaki sauce or serve on the side. Enjoy!
